Raymond James welcomes Florida advisor team managing $430 million in assets
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Raymond James recently welcomed financial advisors Richard Knight, CFP®, CPWA®, Brent Detweiler, CFP®, AWMA™, CRPC™, and Phillip Margy to Raymond James Financial Services (RJFS) – the firm's independent advisor channel – according to Todd Gartrell, Southeast division director for RJFS.
The team arrives from Truist Investment Services where they previously managed approximately $430 million in client assets. Joining the established Fortuna Wealth team at its Melbourne, Florida office, the team provides comprehensive wealth management, financial planning and investment guidance to business owners, families, individuals, pre-retirees and retirees. They are supported by Client Services Managers Gaye Abramski and Michelle McDonald.

Knight holds nearly 10 years of financial services industry experience and joins RJFS after nine years at his previous firm. His professional experience is backed by the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® and Certified Private Wealth Advisor® professional designations.
Detweiler began his financial services career in 2020 and earned a bachelor’s degree in financial planning from Liberty University. He holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER®, Accredited Wealth Management Advisor® and Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor™ professional designations.
Margy has 34 years of experience in the financial services industry. His experience is backed by an MBA from the University of Toledo.
