Raymond James acquires Imperial Capital’s Fixed Income Sales & Trading Business
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Raymond James is deepening its Fixed Income Capital Markets capabilities by adding the Institutional Fixed Income Sales & Trading team from Imperial Capital. Specializing in high-touch fixed income sales and trading in the secondary private and illiquid credit markets, the team will enhance the expertise and services offered across the firm’s fixed income platform, including subsidiaries SumRidge and GreensLedge.
The addition broadens Raymond James’ reach into strategic credit market segments and grows the firm’s ability to serve institutional clients in the US, UK and Europe. More than 30 associates have transitioned to Raymond James across offices in Los Angeles, New York, Houston, Red Bank (New Jersey), Stamford (Connecticut), and London.
“Imperial Capital has operated a highly-regarded practice in a compelling market segment, and its offerings are complementary to our fixed income platform,” said Horace Carter, president of Fixed Income Capital Markets at Raymond James. “The addition of these capabilities onto our existing platform results in new opportunities for clients to access a broader spectrum of securities across the issuer life cycle and varying levels of liquidity in complex markets. I’m thrilled to welcome the Fixed Income Sales & Trading team to Raymond James.”
“Raymond James shares the client-first culture and entrepreneurial spirit that have long defined Imperial Capital,” said Randall Wooster, chief executive officer at Imperial Capital. “Knowing the team is joining an organization with such a strong commitment to its people, clients and long-term growth, gives us great confidence in their future. We look forward to seeing them build on their success as a part of Raymond James.”
Founded in 1997 by Randall Wooster and Jason Reese, Imperial Capital is a full-service investment bank serving institutional investors and middle market companies. Imperial Capital has developed a high level of proficiency in sourcing, analyzing, trading and settling special situations and illiquid credit. The acquisition includes only the Fixed Income Sales & Trading team and Fixed Income Research staff; all other Imperial Capital business units will continue to operate on a standalone basis.
